Short Reference

Syntax

... { ASSIGNING <fs> [CASTING] }
  | { REFERENCE INTO dref }.

Effect

These additions can only be used when inserting single lines. If they are inserted successfully, theinserted line is assigned to a field symbol <fs> using the addition ASSIGNING and a reference is set to the inserted line in the reference variable. using the addition REFERENCE INTO.

Syntax and meaning are the same as for the specification of the output response in the statementREAD TABLE and the same restrictions apply for the modification of key fields of theprimary andsecondary table key.
