Purpose

You use this report to start or stop the FRP dispatcher automatically. For example, you can have the system execute this report every time your SAP F&R system is restarted or shut down.

For this purpose, you can schedule the report so as to be triggered by the events SAP_SYSTEM_START and SAP_SYSTEM_STOP, using transaction SM36.

Note: You can also use transaction SM37to schedule the report to run periodically (for example, once a week) in order to automatically startor stop the FRP dispatcher at specific points in time. You should stop the dispatcher onlywhen it is notprocessing any locations. If the dispatcher is stopped at a time whennot all tasks belonging to a single location have yet been processed, the system may not process the remaining tasks after the dispatcher has been restarted..

When the FRP dispatcher is started automatically, this report first initiates a stop of the dispatcherto ensure that the dispatcher is not started more than once. If the dispatcher is still running at that time, the system stops processing the current tasks and restarts the dispatcher.

The run time of the report depends on both the latency time defined in the transaction Activationof FRP dispatcher (/FRE/FRP_DISP_ACT) and on the number of tasks to be processed.

Activities

When the FRP dispatcher is started or stopped automatically, the system provides trace information asdefined in the transaction Activation of FRP dispatcher (/FRE/FRP_DISP_ACT). You can also use this transaction to view the trace information.

If the FRP dispatcher does not start or stop automatically as expected, you can use the same transaction to start or stop it manually.
