Purpose

This report enables you to migrate the project categories and subcategories from SAP xRPM 2.0 to a portfolio structure in SAP xRPM 4.0.

Integration

Prerequisites

  1. The portfolio type must be configured before you run this migration program.
    To configure the portfoliotype, in Customizing for SAP xApp Resource and Portfolio Management (SAP xRPM),choose Global Customizing -> Portfolio Dependent Settings -> Define Portfolio Types.
  2. Financial/capacity planning categories and groups - You must determine which categories and groups planning (financial/capacity) data per item and per bucket are migrated.
    You define the categories and groups in Customizing for SAP xApp Resource andPortfolio Management (SAP xRPM), by choosing Global Customizing-> Portfolio-Independent Settings -> Define Financial and Capacity Categories.
  3. Navigation - In xRPM 4.0, you can define the navigation options per portfolio and role.
    You configurethe navigation options in Customizing for SAP xApp Resource and Portfolio Management(SAP xRPM) -> Global Customizing -> Process and Service Settings -> Define Navigation.
  4. In xRPM 4.0, you can restrict the available time units to those that are needed in the portfolio processes.
    To define the available units of measure, in Customizing for SAP xApp Resourceand Portfolio Management (SAP xRPM), choose Global Settings -> Define Units of Measurement.
    To define the units to be used in portfolio processes, in Customizing for SAPxApp Resource and Portfolio Management (SAP xRPM), choose Portfolio-Independent Settings -> Define Capacity Units.
  5. You can restrict the currency units to those that are needed in the portfolio processes.
    To determinewhich currency units are available, in Customizing for SAP xApp Resource andPortfolio Management (SAP xRPM), choose Portfolio-Independent Settings -> Define Currency Units.

Features

The project category and subcategory remain attributes of a portfolio item in SAP xRPM 4.0. However, the portfolio structure is now defined as a more complex bucket hierarchy per portfolio.

Selection

Migration Options

  • Option 1
    If you select this option, project categories in SAP xRPM 2.0 are migrated to portfoliosin SAP xRPM 4.0. Subcategories in SAP xRPM 2.0 are migrated to buckets in the corresponding portfolio in SAP xRPM 4.0.
  • Option 2
    If you select this option, a new portfolio is created. Categories in SAP xRPM 2.0 aremigrated to buckets in SAP xRPM 4.0. Subcategories in SAP xRPM 2.0 are migrated to subbuckets in the newly-created portfolio in SAP xRPM 4.0.
    To allow the system to create a new portfolio, you must enter an external ID (maximum of 24 characters) and a name for the new portfolio.
  • Option 3
    If you select this option, the category in SAP xRPM 2.0 is eliminated and subcategories from SAP xRPM 2.0 are migrated to portfolios in SAP xRPM 4.0.

Additional Options

  • Project Category
    This option allows you to define which project categories are to be migrated. You can enter a single project category or a range of project categories.
  • Owner of Portfolio/Bucket
    To determine authorizations for the portfolio and bucket, you must enter the owner of the portfolio or bucket.
    You can change the owner at a later date.
  • Admin of Portfolio/Bucket
    To determine authorizations for the portfolio and bucket, you must enter an administrator for the portfolio or bucket.
    You can change the administrator of the portfolio or bucket at any time.
  • Portfolio Type
    Select the portfolio type that you want to assign to the portfolios that are created during migration.

Standard Variants

Output

Based on your selection options, project categories and subcategories from SAP xRPM 2.0 are migrated to portfolios, buckets, and subbuckets in SAP xRPM 4.0.
