Functionality

This function performs all consistency checks for a DIF Occurrence. It is used when creating or changing a DIF manually via the DIF user interface or automatically via the inbound interface.

Features:

• Can check only one occurrence record or also assignment records of the DIF Occurrence. It is not necessary to pass all existing assignment records of an occurrence to the function. Also a subset can be checked.

• Can check all fields of an occurrence at once (that is, several errors can be returned, used for inbound interface) or a particular field only.

• Can optionally perform the consistency check on assignment records, taking existing assignment records in the database into account.

• Can optionally check the existence of MD objects for assignment records.

• Returns a table with error messages issued by the consistency check.

NOTE: The existence indicators MEMOFLAG and ASSIGNED are not checked by this function. They are set to the correct values by the write function.
