| Some requests to the enqueue server are performed asynchronously, |
| that is, without waiting for the server's response. If requests of |
| this type are sent to quickly in succession, the communication |
| buffer can overrun and requests could be lost. |
| To prevent this, a synchronous request is forced every n |
