Functionality

This sample implementation shows how the treatment organizational unit (OU) of an appointment can bepreset, if the addressee of the request or the order filler of the clinical order is a coordinating facility and the services can be performed by several OUs.

This sample implementation contains the following procedure:

• The system checks whether presetting is necessary. Presetting is not executed here, if:

• an error occurred in previously called implementations

• the appointment already has an OU entered

• the OU is already filled in the presetting structure

• the OU from the request or order item is not a coordinating facility

• If presetting should be executed, the system determines all OUs which can perform the services.

• The system determines the subordinate OUs of the coordinating facility.

• In the determined subordinate OUs of the coordinating facility the system searches for the first OU which can perform the services.

• If there are no subordinate OUs assigned to the coordinating facility, the system uses the first OU which can perform the services.

• If there are no OUs which can perform the services, the system will not preset the OU here.

• If an OU is found, the system fills the presetting structure.

• If the OU is preset here, the system must also determine the suitable scheduling type and add this to the presetting structure.
