Beschreibung

The 'Business Transaction Analysis' (STAD) delivers workload statistics across business transactions(= a user's transaction starting with the call of a transaction [/n....] and ending with an update call or by leaving the transaction) and jobs.

Voraussetzungen

First of all recording of statistics must be running (profile parameter stat/level = 1).

The input screen:

To get the business transaction or job totals choose display mode 'Show business transaction summs',to get the single records grouped by business transaction or job choose display mode 'Show all records, grouped by business transaction' and to get single records as you are used from transaction STAT choose display mode 'Show all statistic records, sorted by start time'.

Start day and time define the beginning of the analysed period, the read time defines the duration ofthat period. Remember: the system tries to deliver transactions completely. Thus a time frame, biggerthan the read time, is analysed. Despite that fact some long running transactions or jobs might not be covered totally.

If you select a user in display mode a) ('Show all statistic resords, sorted by start time' or b) ('Showall records, grouped by business transaction') only thoose records will be read and shown, which havethe 'footprint' of this user. If you select a user in display mode c) ('Show business transaction summs')any record will be read but displayed will be only those records, belonging to a business transactioninitialized by this user. Note: if you select a user in mode a) or b) you might miss records of thisuser (even if you change to display mode c) afterwards) because he might cause load under user SAPSYSe.g. Accordingly is the effect of the selection of transaction, program or tasktype, which can't beselected in mode c). Again, be carefull with preselecting a transaction e.g. and than changing to modec). Setting a minimum time value (or 'Bytes req.' or 'DB changes) will deliver any single record in mode a) or b) which is above these values. In mode c) the limits are set for the TOTAL transaction or job!

If you choose 'Include statistics from memory' the statistical records not yet written to the statisticfile, but contained in the statistics buffer will be analysed as well. If you wish to analyse very recent timeperiods it is obviously necessary to include the buffered records.

Via 'Server Selection' it is possible to analyse only statistics of some choosen servers - but keepin mind that you might miss records belonging to an analysed transaction by using this option. Via 'FurtherOptions' it is possible to influence the above mentioned time frame to be analysed or the 'wait time'for RFCs - if you did not receive data from any server called because of RFC problems or busy applycation servers increase the wait time.
