Functionality

This activity updates user-defined data at the object level (for example, filling statusfor returnables, and Document). SAP Auto-ID Infrastructure (SAP AII) stores user-defined data on the object leveland on the observed action object level .This data can also be stored as data on tag.

User-defined data are provided as activity parameters within the rule. The objects to be updated are also defined by activity parameters within the rule; these parameters are called qualifiers. Objects are updated only if all qualifiers match; if you do not specify a qualifier, then every object is updated.

This activity has the following parameters:

  • HIERARCHY_LEVEL_QUALIFIER. Possible parameter values are:
  • TOP_OBJECT

  • INNER_OBJECT

  • QUALIFIER_1_NAME
  • QUALIFIER_1_VALUE
  • QUALIFIER_2_NAME
  • QUALIFIER_2_VALUE
  • QUALIFIER_3_NAME
  • QUALIFIER_3_VALUE
  • QUALIFIER_4_NAME
  • QUALIFIER_4_VALUE
  • QUALIFIER_5_NAME
  • QUALIFIER_5_VALUE
  • QUALIFIER_6_NAME
  • QUALIFIER_6_VALUE
  • QUALIFIER_7_NAME
  • QUALIFIER_7_VALUE
  • QUALIFIER_8_NAME
  • QUALIFIER_8_VALUE
  • QUALIFIER_9_NAME
  • QUALIFIER_9_VALUE
  • QUALIFIER_10_NAME
  • QUALIFIER_10_VALUE
  • ELEMENT_1_NAME
  • ELEMENT_1_VALUE
  • ELEMENT_2_NAME
  • ELEMENT_2_VALUE
  • ELEMENT_3_NAME
  • ELEMENT_3_VALUE
  • ELEMENT_4_NAME
  • ELEMENT_4_VALUE
  • ELEMENT_5_NAME
  • ELEMENT_5_VALUE
  • ELEMENT_6_NAME
  • ELEMENT_6_VALUE
  • ELEMENT_7_NAME
  • ELEMENT_7_VALUE
  • ELEMENT_8_NAME
  • ELEMENT_8_VALUE
  • ELEMENT_9_NAME
  • ELEMENT_9_VALUE
  • ELEMENT_10_NAME
  • ELEMENT_10_VALUE

Relationships

This activity works exclusively on the activity context table; it does not work directly on activity message data. Therefore, an activity that populates the activity context (like DEVICE_VALIDATE) should be placed earlier in the rule than DEVICE_USER_DATA_MODIFY.

DEVICE_USER_DATA_MODIFY must be followed by DEVICE_REGISTER_40 to update data at the observed action object level. Similarly, it must be followed by DEVICE_UPDATE_CURRENT_STATE to update data at the observed object level.

Example

HIERARCHY_LEVEL_QUALIFIER = TOP_OBJECT

QUALIFIER_1_NAME = 'EPC_TYPE'

QUALIFIER_1_VALUE = 'GRAI-96'

ELEMENT_1_NAME = 'EMPTY'

ELEMENT_1_VALUE = 'X'

If this customizing is implemented within a rule assigned to location A, then all objects which are scanned within this location and which are top objects with EPC Type "GRAI-96' will get the user data field 'empty'updated with value'full'.
